Priests alone cannot provide the ministry necessary in our parishes and schools. We all bare a responsibility to serve Christ. Parishes and schools are blessed with the gifts and talents of the faithful whose generosity and devotion make possible the mission of Christ in the archdiocese. As priests need proper formation, so do those who assist them in the service of God’s mission.
The faith formation programs of the archdiocese have made great strides in providing sound human, theological, pastoral, and spiritual formation for those to whom the archbishop entrusts leadership responsibilities in the work of the Church. Current education, training, and mentoring programs are designed to improve the knowledge base and leadership skills of lay staff and volunteers throughout the archdiocese. A fund of $4 million will provide an improved curriculum and new special training programs for our lay leadership and evangelization efforts.
